Well, WE DID IT!! Tuesday night I received 59% of the vote and was officially elected as the State Representative for Texas House District 93. I could not have done it without your support! This election season started in the summer of 2011 and we have worked hard day in and day out to see this victory come to fruition. If it had been me alone, the win would not have happened. Thank you to everyone who knocked on doors, made phone calls, contributed generously to the campaign, and told your friends about the campaign.

It’s comforting to know that we won the primary and general elections on the strength of the grassroots and not special interests in Austin. That is a very freeing feeling and will allow me to head down to Austin without any encumbrances. I can focus on representing the good folks of District 93 knowing the mandate we received in the primary and general elections. That mandate was to promote limited government, personal responsibility, faith and family values. I am confident that if I, and other elected officials in Texas, continue to make these issues a priority, Texas will maintain its place as best state in the nation!

Speaking of the nation, I am sure that many of you were just as bitterly disappointed as I was in the outcome of the race for President. But let that not discourage us. Rather let it strengthen our resolve even more to fight for the principles and values this great country and state were founded on. Let us be ever vigilant in our defense of freedom and liberty wherever oppression may rear its ugly head.

The states will have a big say in what happens to this country these next four years. And I promise you that I am determined to stand in the gap and fight. Please join me! You stood with me in the election season, and now I am asking you to do so again during the session. I have no doubts that together, we can comprise a formidable team for freedom!

For Liberty and Texas – God bless!

    Matt
